Education/Interests

I graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a BA in Economics. After graduating, I came to Morris to follow my sweetheart. In my spare time you will find me enjoying life with my husband and two children. I have many hobbies but some of my favorites are boating, fishing, sitting by a bonfire, watching movies and scrapbooking.

Why Morris?

The University of Minnesota, Morris is a true asset to the Morris Community and to be able to work here is truly exciting. When you visit, not only will you find a beautiful campus, but you will be surrounded by friendly faces and warm hellos. The campus provides amazing educational opportunities for students and I am very excited to be a part of it.

Education/Interests

I completed a bachelor degree in Spanish and International Studies at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD and a master's degree in International Education at the School for International Training (SIT) Graduate Institute in Brattleboro, VT. As an undergraduate student, I was a pitcher on the baseball team and I studied abroad in Spain. I enjoy spending time with my wife, Stephanie, and son, Will, as well as hunting, fishing, skiing, traveling, and watching baseball.

Why Morris?

The University of Minnesota, Morris, offers small classes and talented professors who work closely with students in a safe, friendly environment. Students benefit from an engaging community with tons of activities and research opportunities on-campus and lots of internships and study abroad possibilities off-campus. Morris offers the size, personalization, and academic excellence that you'd expect from a private college but with the resources of the larger University of Minnesota system and the cost of a public school. These things combine to create an exceptional educational value for students.

Education/Interests

During my time at Morris I was able to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish and a minor in Gender, Women and Sexuality studies. I also worked at the Admissions Office where I discovered how much I enjoy working with students and my passion for higher education! Among all the madness of classes, work and student organizations, I was also able to somehow work sports into my schedule. I've run Cross Country and Track for about half of my life, so it was a great opportunity to be able to continue here. Some of my best friends to this day are those I met on the team or through sports in general. In my free time, I also love doing crafts, reading and especially cooking!

Why Morris?

Having grown up in the city, I always thought I would be a big city girl all my life. Little did I know my small town roots would get me where I needed to be! Before I even visited, I could tell Morris was a great fit for me. Everyone I had spoken to was very helpful and friendly. In my case, character and kindness truly went a long way! I had the best undergrad experience I could have ever asked for, and now, I am delighted to be a Morris staff member.

Education/Interests

I graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead and earned an AA degree in the Liberal Arts. After college I moved back to Morris and worked for a bank and utility company. I began working at UMM in the fall of 2003 and have had the privilege to work in various departments on campus. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two sons and attending their many activities. I love being a mom! I also enjoy exercising, cooking, baking, eating out and spending time with friends.

Why Morris?

I grew up in Morris and simply love Morris for many reasons. We are a small town with fantastic amenities. I love the fact that a grocery store and drugstore will deliver right to your door and the Morris transit service will get you to your desired destination in no time. We have fast food joints to Italian restaurant dining to our beloved Don's Cafe serving the best homemade bread/toast around. We can take in a movie, go bowling or head out to one of the many beautiful parks in town. I love working on campus because I have the opportunity to meet and interact with so many students, faculty and staff. I am amazed at the talent, dedication and work ethic surrounding me.

Education/Interests

I graduated from Morris with a double major in Sociology and Liberal Arts for the Human Services and also minors in Psychology and Women's Studies. I was also a member of the Cougar volleyball team, UMM Violence Prevention Program, Big Friend Little Friend, and intramurals galore! Nowadays I spend my free time hanging out with my husband, Brady, and little one, Kyson, playing old lady leagues (volleyball & softball), hitting up the gym, and watching Jim Carrey movies. I've been known to belt out some Pat Benatar on occasion as well...

Why Morris?

I was continuously asking big questions in high school because I wanted to know more about why the world around me worked the way it did. Unfortunately, digging for those answers wasn't always encouraged. I knew that UMM would provide the avenue and backing for me to dive into those and even broader questions. I wanted to belong to a campus where I could feel like I was a large part of making a positive change to the community and world around me. At the same time, I was not looking for a place where I would feel overwhelmed by the masses. Morris offered the big world perspective in a small, safe atmosphere. And, the fact that it was in my own back yard was just icing on the cake.

Education/Interests

I graduated from the University of Minnesota, Morris in 2010. I entered college as a Liberal Arts for the Human Services major and added Sociology as a second major after being hooked by my first Sociology course! My best memories from college include being a member of Dance Ensemble, serving as a Community Adviser in Gay Hall, and of course enjoying a grilled cheese sandwich with friends at Don's Cafe. Currently, you can find me working out at the gym or baking up a sweet treat. :-)

Why Morris?

I chose UMM because I was looking for a public liberal arts school for a well rounded education, and this University clearly had so much to offer with an exceptional reputation. I knew Morris was a great fit for me with such friendly and truly helpful people. I love that when you walk down the sidewalk, you always receive a smile or "hello" whether you know that person or not.

Education/Interests

I graduated from UMM in 2010 with a degree in Psychology. My favorite activities as a student included eating at dining services (all you can eat buffet every day!) and playing intramurals with my friends. I like to spend my free time reading, walking, playing basketball, and relaxing with my family. One unique experience I had as an undergrad at UMM was co-authoring a study that was published in The Journal of Social Psychology.

Why Morris?

I grew up in Morris and first attended UMM as a part-time PSEO student. I greatly enjoyed my PSEO experience and decided to enroll full-time as a Freshman after high school graduation. I think Morris is special because it is a very student focused campus. Faculty and staff here are genuinely concerned with the growth and success of each individual student. I feel lucky to be able to contribute to that student focused environment now as a professional on campus.

Education/Interests

I graduated from Morris in 2010 with a double major in Math and Computer Science and a minor in Statistics. Sounds exciting, right? As a student, I really enjoyed spending time in lots of student activities and dominating intramural sports… Oh whoops. Did I say dominating? I meant clumsily tripping over my own feet... a lot. But that didn't stop me from having a great time. I loved all of the amazing opportunities that Morris gave to get involved inside and outside of the classroom and all of the people I met along the way.

Why Morris?

I went to another college for a year and found out it wasn't a great fit for me, but while visiting a friend at Morris, I discovered that my perfect school had been there all along-I just hadn't visited it yet. Morris hit me as the kind of unique place that everyone supports each other in whatever endeavor they take on. The people from the campus and the community are friendly and helpful and everyone is here to help you succeed. How could I turn it down? I came here the next year and haven't left since!

Education/Interests

I graduated from the University of Minnesota, Morris in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English. I also served as a community adviser in the residence halls for 2 years and after graduating I put my degrees and experience to work as a residential counselor at a boarding school in Aurora, Illinois. I'm a kid at heart so in my free time I watch cartoons, take my bike out for a ride, or play board or trading card games.

Why Morris?

My older sister went to Morris, and while visiting her I came to appreciate the community, it's enthusiasm and inclusiveness, and it's diversity of interests. My two younger brothers both graduated from Morris too, so it's become a bit of a family tradition. Plus because the campus is small, it's super easy to get involved on campus and try out new things. In my tenure as a student I joined a bunch of different clubs, helped choose which movies to show on campus, created a parade float, facilitated Humans vs. Zombies, had my own radio show, did research, and played in the inaugural season of Morris Quidditch.

Education/Interests

I graduated from Morris in 2014 with a major in History. While a student I stayed busy with student government, playing drums in the jazz ensembles and leading the campus improv group, Breakfast for Dinner. I still keep busy playing music and improvising but have also come to love slowing things down by going out on the lake or sitting by a bonfire.

Why Morris?

The first time I came to Morris was attending the annual Jazz Fest as a high school student. I, with a little prodding from my dad, recognized Morris as a place that I could pursue my passion for music while receiving a world class education in a friendly, engaged community. Morris is a campus that cares for its students and sets them up not just to be successful but to find their passion and live full, rich lives.

Education/Interests

I graduated from Morris with a music major along with a secondary education licensure. While a student here I was very active in the music ensembles which included, concert band, jazz ensembles and jazz combos. In addition to that, I enjoyed playing left bench on the intramural softball team. Currently, I'm what some might call a railfan. Yes, that means I like to watch trains. Don't be alarmed if you see me near the tracks with my camera, I know it's a bit weird.

Why Morris?

I really had never even heard about UMM, that is until my high school teachers all kept telling me about it, and how good of a school it was. So I decided to come up for a campus tour (my last one of the year) and really liked the campus. I couldn't have asked for a better college experience than the one I had here.

Education/Interests

I am originally from Ft Myers, FL but came to Minnesota to further my education. I live in Marshall, MN with my wife, and 3 children. I studied at Minnesota West in Worthington, Southwest Minnesota in Marshall and received my masters at South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. My college years definitely helped me build my character both personally and professionally. Everything from football to classes - and even the food service donuts - helped mold me into the person I am today. A degree from the University of Minnesota is a very high distinction. Students are valued here and are inspired to push their limits.

Why Morris?

I came to the University of Minnesota, Morris because I value the idea of a small liberal arts college. Students are valued here and are inspired to push their limits. Your college years help mold the person you will become and I am fortunate to be able to assist people with their future!
